Chris Davis talks about first half, Scott Feldman discusses first win after O's beat Toronto

After the game, Chris Davis was asked to comment on what it means to have a first half where he hit 37 homers with 93 RBIs. "That means I can take the second half off and coast," Davis said with a laugh. "No, it is something to be proud of. It means I've been doing my job, but it also speaks volumes about the guys in front of me swinging well. It goes unsaid a lot of the time, but Manny (Machado) has about 3,000 doubles, Jonsey (Adam Jones) is swinging well, Nate (McLouth) and Nicky (Nick Markakis) always being on base is huge for me." Davis and Miguel Cabrera are the only players in MLB history to have 30+ homers and 90+ RBIs by the All-Star break. When Davis and the other O's All-Stars return from New York, the pursuit of a playoff berth will resume. "I think we know better what to expect (down the stretch) this year," Davis said. "Try to put together a run and keep ourselves toward the top of the division. That experience we got last year is meaningful." Davis talked about Chris Tillman getting added to the American League All-Star team. "We were all just as excited as he was when we found out today," Davis said. "The guy has worked all year and been a guy we really depend on." Scott Feldman picked up his first Orioles win today, giving up three runs and five hits over 7 1/3 innings. "A good way to wrap up the first half and send all these All-Stars off to New York on a good note," Feldman said. Feldman got a big ovation when he was taken out of the game and leaving the field. "Pretty cool," he said. "Coming here in the past, haven't had a packed house like this. Nice to see the fans come out and support the team." He said he had strong command of his curveball today. "They have a good offense over there, and you can't just pump fastballs all day," Feldman said. "Got to mix it up. Me and Wiety (Matt Wieters) were on the same page well." So now, before the All-Star Game is the Home Run Derby. Davis will be in the spotlight in that event Monday night on national television. What is he expecting? "Not really sure," Davis said. "I expect it be a lot of fun, high energy, and I'm really looking forward to it. I talked to some guys about it to find out how tired you get and should I pace myself or what. There will probably be a few nerves when I get out there."
