Does it make anyone else feel old that Otis Nixon celebrated his 51st birthday over the weekend? Then again, he looked 51 during his rookie season. Aubrey Huff reportedly has agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the San Francisco Giants, further reducing the number of possible destinations for Adam LaRoche. LaRoche turned down the Giants' two-year, $17 million offer, so they hit the bargain bin. And the Orioles aren't handing out multi-year deals for corner infielders. President of baseball operations Andy MacPhail still isn't concerned about a logjam in the outfield. "(Nolan) Reimold had Achilles surgery," MacPhail said on Friday. "We expect him to be 100 percent, but Adam (Jones) hasn't finished a year healthy and Felix (Pie) hasn't finished a year. Right now, I'm comfortable that we have four guys for three positions because somebody's got to finish the year healthy and show me they're durable enough like Nick (Markakis) to play the whole time. "I don't really look at this as a huge problem like everybody else seems to. I like the idea that I've got four guys for three outfield spots, and we can always rotate them in the DH spot." New pitcher Kevin Millwood isn't worried about his uniform number. He received a call from the Orioles a few days ago, checking on his preference, and still hadn't returned it by Friday night, when he phoned in to the Hot Stove Show on 105.7 The Fan and ESPN 1300. Millwood wore No. 34 until arriving in Texas. The Rangers honored Nolan Ryan by retiring that number in 1996, so Millwood settled for 33. That won't work in Baltimore. Matt Albers wears 34, but maybe not for long. "I'm sure Matt and I will have a discussion about it at some point," Millwood said. I asked Millwood what he learned from sharing a clubhouse with Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz in Atlanta. "Pretty much everything I do now," he replied. Millwood has just started throwing in preparation for spring training. He's been working out, "and I usually do my running at night," he said. Millwood also said the first thing he needs to do is "look for a place to stay" in Baltimore. If you have a spare room, let him know. Spring training will give Millwood a chance to bond with Matt Wieters, who will receive a crash course on catching the veteran right-hander. "He went to Georgia Tech, right?" Millwood said. "I'm sure he's pretty bright. It shouldn't be too hard."
