David Lough with a walk-off single in the 12th as O's top Toronto

It took longer than they wanted, but the Orioles picked up a hard-earned win tonight at Camden Yards. After they lost a 1-0 lead with two outs in the ninth, they won it 2-1 in 12 innings. With one out in the 12th, Steve Lombardozzi tripled to right off Todd Redmond. David Lough followed with a line-drive single to left for the walk-off victory. Zach Britton got the win with two scoreless innings of relief and he has now pitched 8 1/3 scoreless on the season. The Orioles were one strike from winning this game 1-0 in the regulation nine innings. But with the crowd roaring with two outs and none on in the top of the ninth, Colby Rasmus hit a homer on a 1-2 pitch from Tommy Hunter to tie it 1-1. He turned around a high 98-mph fastball as Hunter suffered his first blown save in four chances. The scoreless standoff finally ended in the last of the seventh. With two outs, Lough looped a single to left. Jonathan Schoop then worked the count to 3-2 and lined a double into the right-center gap off reliever Neil Wagner. Lough, running on the pitch, scored easily for the 1-0 lead. Bud Norris, who gave up five runs over five innings in his first start at Detroit, pitched outstanding tonight. Over seven innings, he gave up just five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Norris, working on six days' rest, threw 105 pitches and lowered his ERA from 9.00 to 3.75. O's starters have not allowed an earned run in 15 innings in this series and have pitched to an ERA of 2.77 over the last six games. Toronto starter Drew Hutchison pitched six scoreless innings of four-hit ball and Jays starters have put up 12 1/3 scoreless innings in the series. Toronto falls to 6-6. The Orioles improved to 2-3 at home, 4-4 against the AL East and 5-6 on the season with their seventh win in their last 11 games against Toronto. In the series finale Sunday afternoon, Ubaldo Jimenez (0-2, 6.75 ERA) faces lefty Mark Buehrle (2-0, 0.64 ERA).
