Down to their last out in ninth, O's rally to beat Milwaukee 7-6 in 10

The mystery that is Chris Tillman and his struggles continued today at Milwaukee. But despite that, the Orioles picked up an impressive comeback win today, beating the first-place Brewers 7-6 in 10 innings. The Orioles went to the top of the ninth down 6-4 and had two outs and none on when they rallied against Francisco Rodriguez, who was an Oriole last year. Jonathan Schoop's solo homer, his second of the game, made it 6-5. A Delmon Young single and Nick Markakis' game-tying double to left-center followed as Rodriguez suffered his second blown save in 19 chances. An inning later, the Orioles rallied again with two outs and none on. Against Rob Wooten, J.J. Hardy doubled for his third hit and scored on Nick Hundley's RBI single for the lead. Hundley made a throwing error in the last of the ninth but made up for that with his big hit in the 10th to produce the winning run. It was a stirring win to improve the Orioles to 26-23 overall and 15-11 on the road. Before the rally, the story of the day was Tillman's continued struggles. He gave up six runs over 5 2/3 innings today. The updated numbers on Tillman: * He has allowed a career-high 12 earned runs over his last two starts. His previous high was 11 in 2010. * He has an ERA of 16.20 over his past two starts, allowing 13 hits and 14 runs (12 earned) with seven walks over 6 2/3 innings. * He has pitched less than six innings in seven of his 11 starts on the season. * Since pitching to an ERA of 0.84 over his first three starts of 2014, Tillman's ERA is 6.64 over his past eight starts. Down 2-0, the O's took the lead with a three-run third against Kyle Lohse. Adam Jones' two-run triple scored Markakis and Manny Machado, who had singled. Nelson Cruz came up with his 45th RBI on a double to plate Jones. But the Brewers Jean Segura came up with a two-run double in the fourth for a 4-3 lead and then Khris Davis and Lyle Overbay hit back-to-back homers off Tillman in the sixth for a 6-3 lead. Schoop's first homer of the game and fourth of the year made it 6-4 in the seventh. But the O's turned what was looking like a frustrating loss into victory and it was not a bad way to start a three-city, 10-game road trip.
