Esposito wins Gold Glove

Single-A Frederick third baseman Jason Esposito, the Orioles' second-round pick in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Vanderbilt University, has been named a Rawlings Gold Glove Award recipient. Esposito, 24, is the first Keys player to win the award, which was reintroduced to the minors in 2011 after a nearly 50-year hiatus. I don't know what time Esposito will receive it, and I still don't have confirmation on starting times for the Division Series. In 118 games, Esposito paced all Carolina League third baseman in fielding percentage (.960), putouts (83) and assists (257) and finished tied for the lead in double plays (19). He didn't commit an error through his first 38 games. Esposito batted .272/.301/.417 with 31 doubles, five triples, nine home runs and 50 RBIs in 470 at-bats. He collected six hits over his last three games and nine hits over his last six. Esposito batted .320 over his final 67 games, but he's being honored for his defense.
