Fox trots around the bases (updated 3 times)

Jake Fox provided the first run today and some comic relief. Fox homered in the third inning to reduce the Indians' lead to 2-1 over the Orioles. Fox stumbled as he rounded first base and had to go back to make sure he touched the bag and avoid an embarrassing appeal and out. Players were laughing in the dugout as he came down the steps. You'll recall that Fox had 10 home runs in spring training, 11 if you count the interleague game. He was 0-for-7 before today's game. Fox is making his second start behind the plate, and his third this season. He also played left field. Matt Wieters caught last night, and manager Buck Showalter wanted to give him today off before returning him to the lineup tomorrow with Brad Bergesen on the mound. Instant update: Guthrie served up a home run to Shin-Soo Choo in the bottom of the third inning, the second he's allowed this season. Nothing funny about that one. Indians 3, Orioles 1. Update II: Guthrie has allowed five runs and seven hits, with a walk, in 2 2/3 innings innings. He can't get the ball down and the Indians are teeing off. Guthrie allowed seven hits over his first two starts before today. Update III: Make it six runs and eight hits in three innings. Guthrie has thrown 70 pitches. The bullpen will be busy.

Silver lining time again
