The Orioles don't care how early reporters were flying out of Tampa this morning. They're in no rush to leave Camden Yards. We've got free baseball, with the Orioles and Blue Jays tied 2-2 in the top of the 10th. The Orioles are 8-6 in extra innings this season. They're 9-10 when tied after the eighth. They've now scored four runs or fewer in 17 of their last 21 games. All the scoring tonight came on back-to-back home runs by Brian Roberts and Nate McLouth in the third. Including tonight, the Orioles have scored three runs or fewer in seven of their last 10 games. The Orioles are 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position tonight and have stranded nine. They've been retired in order in the eighth and ninth. Jim Johnson struck out two in a routine top of the ninth. Francisco Rodriguez is working the 10th. Fifteen of the Orioles' last 16 games, and 18 of 20, have been decided by two runs or fewer. The Orioles are trying to avoid being only five games above .500 for the first time since May 29, when they were 29-24. Update: Mark DeRosa delivered his second two-out RBI single in two at-bats tonight, scoring Jose Reyes to give Toronto a 3-2 lead. Rodriguez appeared to pick off Reyes at second base, but Brian Roberts may have missed the tag. The ball got there in plenty of time, bringing Buck Showalter onto the field for a brief argument. Update II: Game over. The Orioles lose 3-2 in 10 innings and are eliminated from the wild card race. The Indians won tonight on Jason Giambi's walk-off home run. The Orioles have lost six in a row and fall to 81-76. They're now 17-31 in one-run games. Matt Wieters singled with two outs, but Nick Markakis lined out.
