They've had more days off than days on recently, but that changes tonight for the Nationals, who begin a stretch of 13 consecutive days with games on the schedule with the opener of a weekend series against the Orioles.
There's still uncertainty about the status of the top two members of the Nats rotation, so that puts some added pressure on the guys beneath them to do their job in the interim. Tonight that responsibility falls upon AnÃbal Sánchez, who makes his second start of the season. The veteran right-hander had a strange season debut, pitching well for the most part but done in by four solo homers by the Blue Jays. He'll need to keep the ball in the yard tonight.
The Nationals are going with a right-handed-heavy lineup against Orioles starter (and former Nats prospect) Tommy Milone. That means Howie Kendrick is at first base, Carter Kieboom is at third base and Josh Harrison is the DH. It also means Eric Thames and Asdrúbal Cabrera are on the bench.
