Gausman starting Wednesday at Aberdeen

Right-hander Kevin Gausman is scheduled to start Wednesday night at short-season Single-A Aberdeen, where he threw in the bullpen yesterday. Gausman will face Staton Island, with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. The Orioles wanted to keep Gausman on a normal turn and will limit his innings and pitches to make him a candidate for Sunday's start in Boston. T.J. McFarland, who starts tonight, also is a candidate. For now, the rotation lines up as Chris Tillman Wednesday, Wei-Yin Chen Thursday, Miguel Gonzalez Friday and Ubaldo Jimenez Saturday. Bud Norris played catch today and is expected to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. He's eligible to come off the disabled list July 7. Jemile Weeks will return to Triple-A Norfolk, but he could come to Baltimore if the club decides to add an infielder during Manny Machado's suspension. Weeks had been playing in Aberdeen while Norfolk was on the road. The Orioles decided not to sign veteran left-hander Mark Hendrickson, who had a tryout recently at Camden Yards. However, they'd still like to find a job for him in the organization once he's ready to retire. Suk-min Yoon will have his right shoulder examined Wednesday by team orthopedist Dr. Michael Jacobs. He's been diagnosed with an impingement. Bobby Bundy, recovering from ligament-reconstructive surgery on his right elbow, probably won't pitch until the instructional league. The Orioles reached agreement with their ninth-round pick, University of Mississippi third baseman Austin Anderson. The deal will become official once he passes his physical. Still no official word on Nolan Reimold. As I've written, the Orioles planned to designated him for assignment while trying to find a way to keep him in the organization. Fred Manfra will return to the WBAL Radio booth tonight after undergoing hip-replacement surgery and a second procedure.
