Miguel Gonzalez will report to the Double-A Bowie Baysox today and take the mound for their 6:35 p.m. game against New Hampshire at Prince George's Stadium.
Gonzalez, on the disabled list with a strained right oblique, played catch yesterday at Camden Yards and was cleared to begin his injury rehab assignment.
Gonzalez is eligible to come off the disabled list on Sunday, but Chris Tillman is listed as the starter for the series finale against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards.
Yesterday, Gonzalez told me that he'd likely pitch four or five innings with Bowie. The Orioles could give him Monday's start against the Rays at Tropicana Field.
Manager Buck Showalter will lay out the plan for reporters later this afternoon.
"I'm feeling great, other than my sinuses," Gonzalez said. "It's going around. But I think it's a lot better."
Gonzalez is 3-4 with a 4.17 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) this season. He's registered four consecutive quality starts.
Nolan Reimold will return to Bowie's lineup after starting in left field last night and going 1-for-3 in his first game since leaving extended spring training.
