According to a club source, third baseman Anthony Rendon, outfielder Brian Goodwin and pitcher Aaron Barrett have been selected to play in the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars Game.
The all-star game will be held Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern time at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The game will be broadcast live on MLB Network.
Rendon, who is hitting .250 with six RBIs, has made every play defensively at third base for the Salt River Rafters and has hit well as he recovers from an ankle injury that forced him to miss almost the entire season.
Goodwin wanted to work on his bunting in Arizona and has ended up leading the league in slugging percentage (.667). He's a .313 hitter with three homers and four RBIs.
Barrett got married last week and has returned to the team, pitching very well. The right-hander has a 2.57 ERA in six relief appearances.
The Rafters are now 10-7 and have a very good shot at making the championship game Nov. 17 because of Rendon, Goodwin, Barrett, as well as Nationals representatives Paul Demny, Jason Martinson, Matt Skole, Ryan Perry and Cole Kimball.
