Coupled with Miguel Gonzalez's outing last night, this was the first time all year O's pitchers have produced back-to-back quality starts. Hammel is 2-1 with a 4.34 ERA.
In 11 games against the AL East since joining the Orioles, Hammel is now 4-2 with an ERA of 3.19.
Brian Matusz, Darren O'Day and Jim Johnson kept New York off the board over the last three innings. The Orioles 'pen has not allowed an earned run in 8 2/3 innings over the past three games and has an ERA of 0.69 over the past eight games.
