Left-hander Josh Hader, the Orioles' 19th-round pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Old Mill High in Millersville, has been promoted from the Gulf Coast League to short-season Single-A Aberdeen.
Hader was 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA in 12 games, with seven walks and 35 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings.
Also on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk's Ryan Adams has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, batting .371 (13-for-35) with a home run, six RBIs and six runs scored.
Reliever Greg Burke has posted a 0.82 ERA, allowing two earned runs in 22 innings, over his last 11 appearances.
Left-hander Zach Phillips hasn't allowed a run in 14 of his last 17 outings.
NOTE: Manager Buck Showalter, calling into "The Mid-Atlantic Sports Report" on MASN, said designated hitter Jim Thome may fly down to Sarasota tomorrow to continue his rehab. The Orioles are hoping to get Thome back in the lineup next month.
