Harper goes yard again as Scottsdale rolls over Surprise

So much for a slow start. That is ancient history, again, for Bryce Harper. The Scottsdale outfielder slammed a home run in the third inning, his fifth round tripper in the past six games, leading the Scorpions to a 10-6 win over Surprise in Arizona Fall League play. He went 3-for-3 with two runs, a homer, two walks and three RBIs in the victory. Harper is now hitting .323 with three doubles, one triple, six homers and 23 RBIs in 17 games. He has now hit six homers in AFL play, and has 17 RBIs in the past six games. Harper connected off of Braves left-hander Sean Gilmartin. Harper and Derek Norris, who had the night off, are both playing in the AFL Rising Stars Game on Saturday night. Zach Walters, playing first base as an early-game subsititute, went 2-for-3. He is now batting .196 and has four hits in his last five games. Lefty Sammy Solis said Walters is living with Solis and his family, who have a home only 35 minutes from Scottsdale's home stadium. Solis, Walters and Nationals prospect Sean Nicol all attended University of San Diego. Solis starts Friday night.
