Homers hurting Hunter again (Jones with the walk-off!)

Tommy Hunter has served up three more home runs today, raising his total to 16 in 63 innings this season. Hunter keeps getting the ball up, and bad things keep happening. Hector Luna crushed one in the fifth to tie the game, 3-3, after Jimmy Rollins crushed one in the third and Jim Thome slugged his first of the season leading off the fourth. Showing that the glass can be half full, I'll point out that all three homers are solo shots and we're tied, 3-3. So, you know, it could be a lot worse. Manager Buck Showalter wants to get some length from Hunter after Brian Matusz and Jake Arrieta made hasty exits the past two games. The Phillies committed three errors in the bottom of the fourth, when the Orioles briefly took a 3-2 lead. Rollins and pitcher Vance Worley had back-to-back miscues with one out, and Ryan Flaherty lined an RBI single up the middle. The tie-breaking run scored when second baseman Mike Fontenot failed to snag Endy Chavez's scorching liner. Adam Jones is 0-for-3 today, making him hitless in his last 17 at-bats. Update: Hunter gave the Orioles a quality start and stands to be the winner today. He allowed three runs, all on the solo homers, and eight hits in seven innings. He walked none and struck out two. Of his 86 pitches, 59 were strikes. Pedro Strop is pitching the eighth. If this lead holds up, we'll see Jim Johnson in the ninth. Matt Wieters gave the Orioles a 4-3 lead in the seventh with a single off reliever Jake Diekman after J.J. Hardy walked and Chris Davis singled with one out. Jones flied out - making him 0-for-18 - before Wieters delivered. Davis was credited with a single when Fontenot couldn't make an over-the-shoulder grab of his shallow fly ball to right. The ball popped out of Fontenot's glove. Update II: Strop couldn't hold the lead. He gave up three straight one-out hits, the last an RBI single by Jim Thome on a slider. Why speed up Thome's bat? Robert Andino committed an error to load the bases, but J.J. Hardy started a 6-4-3 double play on a ball that skipped on him. It didn't take the anticipated bounce, and it would have eaten up most shortstops. Not Hardy, who fielded it cleanly and flipped to Andino. The guy's got amazing reflexes. Update III: Darren O'Day with a scoreless 10th. The Orioles have turned a season-high four double plays today. Down on the farm, Jamie Moyer has allowed one hit and struck out three in his debut with Triple-A Norfolk. Miguel Tejada is starting at shortstop. Today's attendance: 46,611, the second sellout this year. Update IV: Adam Jones just hit his second career walk-off home run, a two-run shot off B.J. Rosenberg in the bottom of the 12th. Rosenberg was making his major league debut. He retired the side in order in the 11th. Jones broke an 0-for-18 slump in his previous at-bat. His 17th homer of the season, and first since May 29 in Toronto, ended the game.
