Jones to host second annual #StayHungry #PurpleTailgate on Sunday

Sometime next season, you're going to see a most disturbing sight. It might be in person. It might be on Twitter. It might be captured on film via television or even on this website.

But you need to be prepared for it.

Orioles center fielder Adam Jones will be dressed in a Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger jersey. Hopefully, not those silly black-and-yellow-striped throwbacks that make the Steelers look like oversized bees.

Jones wound up on the wrong end of a wager with Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen over last night's Ravens-Steelers game at Heinz Field. The stakes: loser wears a jersey of the winner's football team for a day next season. We all know what happened in this bet between All-Star outfielders because we're all struggling with the 43-23 loss that dropped the Ravens into last place in the AFC Central.

Jones is as competitive as they come, so it's a good bet he's not in the best of moods this morning (he would have much preferred to see McCutchen strolling around the Steel City in a No. 55 Terrell Suggs jersey). But you know what would brighten up his day? You. Specifically, you purchasing a ticket to his second annual #StayHungry #PurpleTailgate, which will be held Sunday before the Titans-Ravens game at M&T Bank Stadium.

The event, at 1111 Leadenhall St., will again benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore. Last year's debut #PurpleTailgate sold out and raised in excess of $10,000 for a most worthy cause, so the bar's been set high.

This year's edition will be held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and there are several price points for tickets:

* A $50 Tailgate Pass includes open bar and food for 3 1/2 hours, plus a commemorative koozie.
* An $85 VIP Tailgate Pass gets you early access, four hours of eats and drinks, a photo op with Jones (for the purchaser only) and a commemorative koozie and t-shirt.
* For $175, you get a Tailgate Pass and tickets in the upper level of the end zone, 3 1/2 hours of grub and grog, and a commemorative koozie.

What's on the menu? Chicken and steak tacos from Blue Agave, mini-sliders from The Abbey Burger Bistro, crab balls from Jimmy's Famous Seafood, chili and the fixings from Mother's Grille, wings from Alexander's Tavern, caramels from Mouth Party Caramels and desserts from Cupcakes. Delicious sides will be paired with all food options.

For your pregame imbibing pleasure, visit a crush station hosted by Noble's Bar and Grill, the Blue Agave margarita stand, or just enjoy typical libations like Budweiser, Bud Light, Natural Light and Michelob Ultra. Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and bottled water will also be available.

Skies in Chaos and DJ Buddha will provide the entertainment.

The event will take place rain or shine and a no-refunds policy will be strictly enforced. You must be 21 or older to attend. The #StayHungry #PurpleTailgate is expected to sell out, so buy tickets early to avoid being disappointed. There's no guarantee walk-ups will be available.
