Kevin Gausman starts in Bowie tonight (Frederick's All-Stars)

BOWIE, Md. - Orioles right-hander Kevin Gausman will pitch tonight at Prince George's Stadium as the Double-A Bowie Baysox host Binghamton at 6:35 p.m.

It will be Gausman's first Double-A game since May 17, 2013. He pitched for the Baysox during the first half of that season, going 2-4 with a 3.11 ERA in eight starts before being promoted directly to Baltimore.

This will be Gausman's second rehab outing as he builds back up to pitch as a starter once again. Gausman pitched three innings for Single-A Frederick at Wilmington on Friday, allowing just one hit and no runs with no walks and four strikeouts. He threw 32 of 40 pitches for strikes.

Gausman has been on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis retroactive to May 7. He has said several times that he feels just fine physically, most recently yesterday in the Orioles clubhouse.

"My arm feels great," Gausman said. "My shoulder hasn't been this strong ever. I feel really comfortable. Was throwing the ball pretty easy in Wilmington and it was coming out good.

"More than anything, I was interested to see how I was going to feel the next day, and I wasn't sore at all. That is a good sign and everything that was in there is gone, and you know it's been a month and I'm just kind of ready to get back in the game and be able to help this team."

Gausman joines a Bowie team that is playing well right now. The Baysox have won five of six games, outscoring their opponents 31-16 and are 10-4 over the past 14 games. Bowie is 32-26 overall and in second place, 3 1/2 games back of Altoona.

Frederick has four All-Stars: The Single-A Frederick Keys have had four players named Carolina League All-Stars. Jeff Kemp and Drew Dosch have been selected as reserve infielders, Tucker Nathans gets the call as a reserve outfielder, while Mitch Horacek was one of nine pitchers selected. This group will take part in the Carolina-California League All-Star game on Tuesday, June 23 in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.

This marks the first time the Keys have had four midseason All-Stars since the 2009 season when Brian Matusz, Zach Britton, Caleb Joseph, Pedro Florimon, Brandon Waring and Luis Lebron were all selected. In 2014, the Keys sent Branden Kline, Glynn Davis and Matt Taylor to the all-star game in Wilmington, Del.

A Bowie, Md. native, Kemp, 25, receives his first professional all-star selection. In 48 games he's batting .286 with five home runs, 18 RBIs and he enters today's game just outside the top 10 in the Carolina League in batting average.

Dosch, 22, makes his second All-Star game appearance after being named a midseason South Atlantic League All-Star last year. In 51 games Dosch is batting .279 with two home runs, 32 RBIs. He was the Orioles minor league Player of the Month for April.

One of the league's top hitters this season, Nathans, 26, makes his first All-Star game appearance. The former Fairfield star is batting .313 in 51 games with five home runs and 26 RBIs. He ranks third in the Carolina League in batting and OBP (.392).

Horacek, 23, receives his first All-Star selection. In 12 starts the left-hander is 4-5 with a 3.86 ERA. Horacek paces the Carolina League in strikeouts with 76 in 67 2/3 innings and is tops among starting pitchers in strikeout/9IP ratio (10.11). Opponents are batting just .227 off Horacek.
