Kinston has a 3-1 lead in the fourth at Frederick (updated)

FREDERICK, Md. - The Single-A Frederick Keys trail the Kinston Indians 3-1 in the last of the fourth of Game 1 of the Mills Cup finals. Kinston's Jesus Aguilar led off the top of the fourth with a solo homer to left off Nick Haughian to give the Indians the 2-1 edge. The next batter, Tyler Cannon, doubled to right. He would score on a dribbler to third that went for an infield single and an error on third baseman Dale Mollenhauer, who threw past first base. Kinston went on to put runners on the corners with no outs, but could not add to the 3-1 lead as Haughian picked up two strikeouts and a ground out to get out of the jam. Frederick stranded two runners against Kinston right-hander Clayton Cook in the opening inning, but scored in the last of the third to tie the score at 1-1. Bobby Stevens drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a sac bunt and scored when Manny Machado ripped an RBI double down the left-field line. Machado is now 7-for-19 with three RBIs in the playoffs. The Indians used a couple of hits that didn't leave the infield grass and an error to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. With one out, Tyler Holt reached on an infield single and advanced to second on Haughian's throwing error. He reached third on another infield single and Holt scored on Adam Abraham's RBI groundout. Haughian, making his first start since Sept. 3, had thrown 47 pitches through the first three innings. Check back here later tonight as I add to this entry with updates on tonight's game. Update I: Frederick is not getting it done on offense tonight and still trails 3-1 with the game now headed to the seventh. Michael Flacco came up with runners on first and third in the last of the fourth and hit into an inning-ending double play. In the fifth, Machado lined out deep to right with a man on first for the last out. In the sixth, Flacco popped out to end the frame with two men aboard and he is now 1-for-20 in the playoffs. The Keys have stranded seven runners in the game so far. Update II: More frustration on offense as Jonathan Schoop hit into an inning-ending double play to end the seventh as Frederick still trails 3-1.
