Looking ahead at the Orioles rotation (updated)

The Orioles aren't listing a starter for Thursday night's game against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

The off day on Monday enables manager Buck Showalter to adjust his rotation and withhold making a decision.

Chris Tillman will start Tuesday night's opener on an extra day's rest. Kevin Gausman is listed for Wednesday night, which puts him on regular rest.

Gausman has been moved ahead of Tyler Wilson, whose last start came Thursday night in Toronto.

Showalter could pitch Wilson on Thursday on six days' rest or use Mike Wright on regular rest after the right-hander started yesterday.

Yovani Gallardo makes his last injury rehab start on Monday with Triple-A Norfolk before rejoining the Orioles' rotation on Saturday afternoon against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards.

The Red Sox are starting David Price, knuckleballer Steven Wright and former Orioles farmhand Eduardo Rodriguez in the three-game series at Fenway Park.

The Orioles and Red Sox begin today tied for first place in the American League East.

The Orioles' rotation has a 4.72 ERA that ranks 22nd in the majors. Ubaldo Jimenez already has given up two runs today after only three batters.

Update: Jimenez is done after just 1/3 of an inning. He allowed five earned runs on six hits and threw 30 pitches. His only out recorded was a strikeout. Vance Worley is in for the Orioles, who trail the Blue Jays 5-1 in the second inning.
