Machado homers again (updated)

Single-A Delmarva shortstop Manny Machado has hit his second home run in two nights. He's still not ready to replace the injured J.J. Hardy in Baltimore, but he's an exciting prospect. Mike Flacco, the brother of Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, hit his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the first inning against Savannah. Buck Britton, the brother of Orioles pitcher Zach Britton, has an RBI tonight for Single-A Frederick. Tyler Townsend has a double and RBI. Robbie Widlansky hit a three-run homer for Double-A Bowie. Ronnie Welty walked in the second inning after pinch-hitting for Jeff Fiorentino, who flied out in the first and came out of the game for an undisclosed reason. Welty homered in his next at-bat. Back at Camden Yards, the Orioles loaded the bases against Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz in the bottom of the third on singles by Derrek Lee and Vladimir Guerrero, and a walk to Luke Scott. Adam Jones followed with a sacrifice fly to center field. Orioles 2, Red Sox 0. Buchholz has thrown 51 pitches through the third. David Ortiz, who walked in the second, is the only Boston baserunner through three innings. The Red Sox still haven't gotten a ball out of the infield. Instant update: Dustin Pedroia led off the fourth with a single, took second on a bouncer to the mound, stole third and scored on Kevin Youkilis' sacrifice fly. If Britton had fielded Adrian Gonzalez's ball cleanly, the Orioles might have turned a double play. Of the Red Sox's 12 outs, eight have come on ground balls, two on strikeouts, one on a line drive and one on a fly ball.
