TORONTO – Jorge Mateo flew into Toronto last night and is on the Opening Day roster after collecting a sufficient number of at-bats down in Sarasota.
Livan Soto worked out yesterday, but he didn’t make the final cut. The Orioles reassigned him to Triple-A Norfolk.
Reliever Bryan Baker is on the roster. Matt Bowman cleared waivers and was outrighted to Norfolk. Roansy Contreras was designated for assignment.

Five players made their first career Opening Day rosters: Kjerstad, Holliday, Povich, Suárez and Sugano.
Cowser is leading off today and playing left field. Westburg is at second base and batting third.
Holliday is the shortstop and Urías is playing third base.
Zach Eflin allowed three earned runs or fewer in all nine of his Orioles starts last season. Only Corbin Burnes (15) had a longer streak to begin his Orioles career. Rick Krivda is third with eight.
The Orioles are 21-9 on Opening Day since 1995, the best record in baseball. They’ve gone 17-9 against the Blue Jays in the past two seasons, the best record in the American League.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. posted a 1.519 OPS against the Orioles last season for the third-highest single-season mark versus Baltimore in a minimum 50 plate appearances. Aaron Judge holds the record at 1.637 in 2017.
