Recap: Mike Wright was charged with five runs in 2 2/3 innings, the last two scoring after he left the game. Mitch Horacek allowed two inherited runners to score and two of his own without retiring a batter. Odrisamer Despaigne threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit. Mychal Givens threw two scoreless innings. Christian Walker's sacrifice fly in the seventh scored Nolan Reimold, who led off with a single. Hyun Soo Kim reached on another infield hit. He also grounded out twice to second base and is 2-for-27 this spring.

Need to know: The Orioles are 0-10-2. Per STATS, the last team with a longer winless streak to start spring training was the 2009 Astros at 0-16-3. All seven runs off Wright and Horacek scored with two outs. Despaigne snared Mark Teixeira's screaming liner up the middle in the fourth. Paul Janish was hit by a pitch and he singled. Dale Thayer retired the side in order in the sixth. Henry Urrutia was robbed of a hit on a diving catch by second baseman Pete Kozma. Givens has seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

TAMPA - The Orioles aren't exactly poised to end their winless streak today, trailing the Yankees 7-0 in the seventh inning.

Odrisamer Despaigne allowed one hit in 2 1/3 scoreless innings, his best outing as an Oriole. Dale Thayer retired the side in order in the sixth.

Mike Wright was charged with five runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings. He walked the last two batters he faced and struck out six.

Wright threw 66 pitches, 39 for strikes.

What did he take out of his third spring start?

"That's the game of baseball," he said. "Like I said last week, honestly, as far as my execution of pitches went, I thought I did very well and the results just weren't there. What I'm taking from this is I'm just going to keep working and keep doing the same thing because eventually it's going to pay off."

Wright thought he had good stuff today. I won't say the right stuff, but much better than his line reflected.

"I felt fantastic," he said. "Like I said, strikeouts or whatever, I'd rather get outs. I wish those bloop hits, those soft balls that they hit that they got out, I wish those would have been outs instead of strikeouts eventually.

"That's too many pitches to throw in 2 2/3rd. Last season when I pitched against the Yankees, they made me throw a lot of pitches. They did the same thing today. I'm just going to keep trying to execute pitches and hopefully the results change."

All seven runs in the third inning scored with two outs, including the two allowed by left-hander Mitch Horacek.

"You saw the kind of hits they were getting," said Wright, who's allowed seven runs and 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings this spring, with three walks and 10 strikeouts. "Broken bat, jam shot that just went over second base. I was executing my pitches well even when there were two outs and they just somehow scored runs off that.

"As far as I'm concerned, I felt pretty positive. It sucks because yet again we're losing. As far as the process goes, I felt pretty good about mine today."
