More from Adam Jones

SARASOTA, Fla. - Orioles pitchers will warm up on the side mounds again today and head to the indoor batting cage for their bullpen sessions. Hitters will track the pitches.

Dane De La Rosa, Wesley Wright, Steve Johnson, Chris Jones, Mike Wright, Eddie Gamboa, Hunter Harvey, Brian Matusz, Oliver Drake, Chaz Roe, Tyler Wilson, Tim Berry, Jason Garcia and Logan Verrett are scheduled to throw.

Here are some leftover quotes from center fielder Adam Jones, who spoke to reporters at his locker this morning.

On not having Markakis in right field:
"It's going to be different looking to my left and not having (Nick) Markakis there, just like it's going to be different for the Orioles fans knowing that 21's not in right. He's been there for nine years. But it's baseball. Cal (Ripken Jr.) retired and somebody had to fill in. The game is going to continue to go. The 2015 opening day is not going to be halted because we don't have Markakis. It's just an adjustment we're going to have to make. I think we're going to be fine."

Outfield-jump-white.pngOn replacing production from Markakis and Nelson Cruz:
"People are going to step up and fill the role. You can't replace Cruz or Markakis the individual. Some of the numbers you can't replace either, but if guys collectively do their part, you can subsidize that."

On losing Markakis' leadership:
"He was known in this clubhouse, he was known in the community, he was known as a guy who just showed up to work and did his job. That's what you want out of an individual and that's what you want out of a teammate and that's what you want out of a man. That was my definition of Markakis. He came to work every day."

On whether he must do more in Markakis' absence:
"I've been doing that for five years now, so it's not like my job changed. It's just we don't have Markakis. Nothing on my end changes. I'm still the same."

On whether Orioles play with a chip on their shoulder:
"I don't think we play with a chip on our shoulder. We just play the game our way. If that's how you see it, that's how you see it. We just play our style and live with the results. Everything else is inferior to us. We just want to play the game of baseball and win and come back the next day and do it all over again. There's no secret to it."

On being defending American League East champions for the first time:
"We're marked men as we've been, so keep it that way. I think we like it like that."
