Nationals' Perry, DeRosa, Perez, Maldonado and Moore news

Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Mark DeRosa emailed him and said he "feels great" and would like to return to the roster. Johnson wants DeRosa to spell third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, maybe every once and awhile if he needs to rest his shoulder. Currently, Steve Lombardozzi is the backup for Zimmerman, but has gotten a lot of playing time in the outfield. This is again another opportunity for Tyler Moore to solidify his spot on the roster. The right-handed first baseman starts in left field and has hit well in his return to the Nationals. With his power numbers in the minors and his outburst against Boston and Toronto, if Moore plays like that again this weekend against the Orioles or on the extended road trip, he could stay longer this time. Right-hander Ryan Perry makes his pro debut as a starter for Double-A Harrisburg tonight. He is scheduled to go three innings or until he reaches a pitch count of around 45. He has the capability of hitting the mid-90s with his fastball, so it will be interesting to see how he starts. Outfielder Eury Perez has recovered from his sore oblique and has been activated by Harrisburg. He is leading off and playing center field for the Senators again. Nationals catcher Carlos Maldonado is also in the starting lineup tonight for Potomac on a rehab assignment. He joins DeRosa in the starting lineup for the P-Nats against the Winston-Salem Dash in Woodbridge, Va.
