No offense yet, O's down by three in the fourth

It could all change any minute, but the first three innings today here at Camden Yards have just brought more offensive frustration and no runs for the Orioles. Tampa has scored three times in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead on the O's and Brad Bergesen. Brian Roberts, who has just one hit over his last 21 at-bats, has walked twice to leadoff an inning without scoring. He was picked off second by Wade Davis in the first and thrown out trying to advance to third. He walked and was stranded at first in the third inning. The O's left two men on base in the second when Cesar Izturis struck out on a 2-2 pitch. So far, through the third inning today, the Orioles have drawn 16 walks in this series, but scored just four runs in the series. The Orioles have scored just eight runs over their last four games. Derrek Lee has hit the ball hard to center twice today with no hits. He is just one for his last 16 at-bats as his average has dipped to .230. By the way, with his three hits yesterday, the Orioles' Nick Markakis has recorded at base hit in 150 consecutive series, the longest current steak in the majors. He was last held hitless in a series in a three-game set against Tampa May 23-25 of 2008. Markakis has four multi-hit games over his last six contests and is 9-for-26 in that time. The Orioles are 5-7 on the year versus the American League East and are 19-18 against the East since Buck Showalter took over.
