No update on Bundy

The Orioles don't expect to receive an update today on pitcher Dylan Bundy, who traveled to Gulf Breeze, Fla., yesterday to be examined by orthopedist Dr. James Andrews. Bundy threw on flat ground from 90 feet on Monday and still experienced tightness in his right forearm near the elbow. He may have undergone a second MRI after the first one on his elbow came back clean. Manager Buck Showalter is focused more on his team and the pending flight to Oakland that kicks off a three-city West Coast trip. "They've got it now. I've got 25 here," Showalter said. "We're getting ready to go west. He's in good hands. They'll handle it, so I'll be out of the updating business for a while." Showalter confirmed that the Orioles optioned reliever Alex Burnett to Triple-A Norfolk to make room for starter Josh Stinson on the 25-man roster. Burnett hasn't pitched since throwing two innings in relief Saturday with Single-A Frederick. Norfolk has an early this morning, so Burnett won't be available to the Tides until Thursday in Charlotte. Steve Johnson is making his first injury rehab start today with Norfolk. He gave up a solo home run to Charlotte catcher Bryan Anderson in the second inning. Former Oriole Jason Berken is starting for Charlotte. The Orioles would like Johnson to work five or six innings today if his pitch count allows it. And if Charlotte allows it. Darren O'Day could close today if the Orioles are in a save situation. Showalter would like to avoid using Jim Johnson. He didn't use O'Day last night so that the veteran would be available today. In his last 22 appearances since Sept. 18, including the playoffs, O'Day is 2-0 with a 0.38 ERA in 23 2/3 innings and the Orioles are 19-3 in those games. Opponents are hitting .117 (9-for-77). Chris Davis is 10-for-21 in his last six games, with three multi-hit games, three doubles, a home run and three RBIs. Adam Jones has reached base safely in all but one of the Orioles' first 20 games - April 12 at Yankee Stadium - and has at least one hit in 18 of those contests. The Orioles have won nine of the last 11 home games against Toronto since the start of the 2012 season. The Orioles are 9-4 since April 10, the best record in the American League. Boston is 8-5. Also, the Orioles began the year 0-4 in games decided by one run (0-3) or two runs (0-1), but they've since gone 6-0 in such games - 4-0 in one-run games and 2-0 in two-run games.
