Norris is all the rage on road (O's win 7-2)

In three home starts with the Orioles this season, right-hander Bud Norris is 2-0 with a 7.27 ERA. He's allowed 13 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings. In three road starts with the Orioles, Norris is 1-0 with a 2.20 ERA. He's allowed four earned runs in 16 1/3 innings. Same amount of starts and innings. Vastly different results. Norris is carving up Cleveland today, permitting only one hit, walking one and striking out seven over five scoreless innings. He's retired 10 batters in a row. Norris' season-high in strikeouts is eight against his former team, the Astros, in his first game with the Orioles. Michael Brantley has the only hit for the Indians, who are facing Norris for the first time. Norris has thrown 64 pitches and continues to hold a 5-0 lead against a team that's already used five pitchers today after Justin Masterson left in the second inning with discomfort in his left side. That's a lot of baton passing in six innings, and it's going to continue. Former Oriole Clay Rapada is warming in the Indians' bullpen. Norris hasn't gone more than six innings in his six starts with the Orioles, but he's threatening to burst through that wall today. He's only worked five, 5 2/3, 4 2/3 and 5 1/3 innings in his last four outings. Matt Wieters has two hits today after entering the game in a 16-for-104 funk. Update: Jason Kipnis broke up Norris' shutout bid with a home run in the seventh, but the right-hander has completed seven innings for the first time as an Oriole and tied his season high with eight strikeouts. Norris has thrown 92 pitches. The Orioles' last complete game was delivered by Jason Hammel on June 16, 2012 in Atlanta. Update II: Norris was removed after seven innings and 92 pitches. Tommy Hunter replaced him and served up a leadoff homer to Lonnie Chisenhall in the eighth. Norris has allowed two runs or fewer in five of his seven starts with the Orioles. It's now a save situation with the Orioles leading 5-2 in the ninth. Update III: Game over. The Orioles defeated the Indians 7-2 to give Norris his career-high 10th win. The Orioles are 3-4 on the road trip with two more games to play. They've scored 14 runs in the last two days. Wieters went 4-for-5 with his 20th home run. He's 5-for-9 in two September games. What else is new? Wieters was a career .288/.361/.487 hitter in September/October before today, his best numbers for any month. Matusz worked the ninth inning, allowing a two-out double to Michael Brantley and striking out two. Jim Johnson was warming, but he sat down after Wieters' home run removed the save opportunity.
