Notes on Casilla, Wieters, Markakis, Yoon, Bundy and more (Lough scratched)

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Alexi Casilla was scratched from today's lineup with a hyperextended left knee. Jonathan Schoop has replaced him at shortstop. Casilla had recently been cleared to play after being shut down with a right hamstring injury. He's 0-for-5 in three games. Manager Buck Showalter learned of Casilla's injury via a phone call from bench coach John Russell as he prepared to make the drive to Fort Myers. Matt Wieters' right ankle is still a little swollen, and he probably won't play before Monday as a precaution. Wieters rolled his ankle during the fourth inning of Tuesday's game in Sarasota. Nick Markakis has some inflammation in his left shoulder, but will be "a go" on Saturday, according to Showalter. Markakis could serve as the designated hitter on Saturday. Suk-min Yoon probably will work one inning in Saturday's debut. lough-taking-bp.jpgDylan Bundy will throw off a flat mound on March 19, 21 and 24. He will progress to a half mound and then a regular mound. Adam Jones will return to camp on Saturday, but he may not play until Monday. The Orioles travel to Dunedin on Sunday, and it's doubtful that Jones will make the trip. T.J. McFarland may be stretched out to three innings today. Showalter said Brian Matusz has "presented himself" as a candidate to start this season. Update: David Lough was scratched from the lineup as a precautionary measure based on a stiff neck. Xavier Paul will play left field and lead off. They're dropping like flies here.
