Notes on draft signings, rotation, Wright, Joseph and more

The Orioles announced the signings of two more picks from the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, adding left-hander Garrett Cleavinger (third round) and right-hander Gray Fenter (seventh). They've got 30 of their selections under contract.

Ubaldo Jimenez opposes Joe Kelly on Tuesday and Bud Norris opposes Clay Buchholz on Wednesday. The Red Sox are sending former Orioles farmhand Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound on Thursday afternoon.

Gonzalez is the last Oriole on the 15-day disabled list. Second baseman Jonathan Schoop and relievers Wesley Wright and Jason Garcia are on the 60-day disabled list.

Wright has made three appearances with Triple-A Norfolk on his injury rehab assignment, allowing four runs and five hits in three innings. He's also walked two batters.

Wright can remain on his assignment for 30 days. The Orioles aren't in a hurry to bring him back as long as his velocity is down and he's laboring.

Schoop is 0-for-8 with four strikeouts in two games at Bowie.

Chris Tillman has lost is last five starts against the Blue Jays since June 15, 2014, going 0-5 with an 8.78 ERA.

Tillman won his 50th career game on June 16 against the Phillies, tying Tom Phoebus for 21st place on the Orioles' all-time list.

Caleb Joseph broke a 2-2 tie yesterday with a single in the ninth inning that raised his average to .371 (13-for-35) with runners in scoring position.

The Orioles lead the majors with a .305 average with runners in scoring position, placing them ahead of the Braves (.302), Blue Jays (.300) and Rockies (.295).

Reliever Darren O'Day has escaped two bases-loaded, no-out jams this season. Opponents are 0-for-11 with seven strikeouts against him with the bases filled - the most at-bats without a hit against any pitcher in the majors.

O'Day's 1.00 ERA ranks fifth in the American League among relievers. He's allowed two earned runs over his last 24 innings and 25 appearances since April 13.

The Orioles' bullpen leads the majors with a 1.96 ERA since April 29. It ranks eighth this season with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.85 (214/75).

The Orioles continue to lead the majors with 22 outfield assists.

Buck Showalter (1,294) is one win shy of tying Cap Anson for 32nd place on the all-time managerial list.

On this date in Orioles history in 1956, pitchers Connie Johnson and George Zuverink combined on a one-hitter against the White Sox at Comisky Park. However, left-hander Jack Harshman, a future Oriole, also tossed a one-hitter in Chicago's 1-0 victory.
