O's agree with third-round pick, according to report

The Orioles have agreed to terms with their third-round draft pick, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College pitcher Stephen Tarpley, according to Baseball America's Jim Callis. A major league baseball source tonight confirmed the agreement for MASNsports.com Callis tweeted: O's agree to terms w/3rd-rder Stephen Tarpley for $525,000. Scottsdale (Ariz.) CC LHP is athletic, peaks at 95 w/fastball. The slot amount listed for that pick is $525,500. Tarpley was taken with the 98th overall selection. This year he went 3-2 with an ERA of 2.35 and fanned 108 batters over 92 innings. Tarpley was drafted originally in the eighth round by Cleveland in 2011. The O's have now reached contract agreements with Alex Murphy (round 6), Trey Mancini (round 8), Austin Wynns (round 10), Mike Yastrzemski (round 14) and Jeff Kemp (round 33). Also tonight, the club's 13th-round pick, pitcher Jimmy Yacabonis from St. Joe's University, tweeted that he is headed to Aberdeen, so that means we can add him to the list of those that have reached agreements with the club. The O's have yet to announce any signings.
