O's game blog: Dylan Bundy faces Toronto at Rogers Centre

TORONTO - For the Orioles, it's another night and another chance to get a win at Rogers Centre. They are 0-8 in the ballpark this season with several close losses, like last night's 5-3 defeat. They've lost four one-run games at Rogers Centre and been outscored 49-26.

In the four games on this road trip, the Orioles are 1-3 and they've scored eight runs on 26 hits with three homers. Over the last nine games, the Orioles have been held to 24 runs, scoring one or none four times.

Last night center fielder Cedric Mullins went 0-for-4 with a walk, going hitless for just the third time in 10 games. He's batting .343/.425/.571. Craig Gentry went 3-for-4 with a single and two doubles for his third three-hit game of the year and his first since June 8 at Toronto. Renato Núñez hit his third Orioles homer and fourth of his career. All four have come on the road, and two were at Rogers Centre, including one on April 29, when Núñez was still with the Rangers.

Right-hander Dylan Bundy (7-11, 4.99 ERA) will make his 24th start tonight looking to stop his recent struggles. Bundy pitched to a 1.98 ERA in June. But in seven starts since, he is 1-4 with an 8.33 ERA. Over 35 2/3 innings, he has given up 49 hits, including 12 homers.

Bundy's 30 homers allowed lead the majors. His homer rate per nine innings was 1.5 in 2016, 1.4 last year and is 2.1 this season. He's also allowed a career-high 9.3 hits per nine innings. In nine day-game starts, Bundy is 6-1 with a 2.07 ERA. In 14 night-game starts he is 1-10 with a 7.51 ERA.

Right-hander Sam Gaviglio (2-6, 5.13 ERA) will make his 20th appearance and 18th start for the Jays. Over his last four games he is 0-3 with a 7.00 ERA. In six second-half starts he is 0-3 with a 6.16 ERA and .318 batting average against.

Gaviglio got the start on July 20 at home versus the Orioles. In a no-decision he pitched 7 2/3, allowing seven hits and four runs. He gave up home runs to Tim Beckham and Chris Davis.

For the year, lefty batters have hit .295 off Gaviglio, with right-handers at .268. He yields an average of .292 when pitching with runners in scoring position.
