The Orioles today announced that they will open the 2017 season at Oriole Park against the Toronto Blue Jays as part of a five-game homestand beginning with Opening Day on Monday, April 3. The Orioles will continue the first homestand of the season with a three-game series against the New York Yankees, April 7-9.
The Orioles will again host each American League East divisional opponent for three series throughout the season. The Boston Red Sox will play a total of 10 games in Baltimore, April 21-23, June 1-4, and September 18-20. The Tampa Bay Rays will visit Camden Yards for 10 games, April 24-26, June 30-July 2, and September 21-24. The Orioles will also host the Yankees, May 29-31, and September 4-6. The Blue Jays will also travel to Baltimore, May 19-21, and August 31-September 3.
The 2017 Interleague slate features visits to Baltimore by the Washington Nationals (May 8-9) and Pittsburgh Pirates (June 6-7). The St. Louis Cardinals (June 16-18) and Chicago Cubs (July 14-16) will also visit Camden Yards for summertime weekend series. The Orioles' road schedule against National League opponents will include visits to the Cincinnati Reds (April 18-20), as well as a series in Washington to play the Nationals (May 10-11), Milwaukee Brewers (July 3-5), and Pirates (September 26-27) as part of Interleague Play.
Baltimore will host the rest of the AL once: Chicago White Sox (May 5-7), Minnesota Twins (May 22-24), Cleveland Indians (June 19-22), Texas Rangers (July 17-20), Houston Astros (July 21-23), Kansas City Royals (July 31-August 2), Detroit Tigers (August 3-6), Los Angeles Angels (August 18-20), Oakland Athletics (August 21-23), and Seattle Mariners (August 28-30).
The Orioles home schedule will also consist of three games played on national holidays including Memorial Day (May 29 vs. New York-AL), Father's Day (June 18 vs. St. Louis), and Labor Day (September 4 vs. New York-AL).
The Orioles will play 16 home games in August, their busiest month at Oriole Park. Overall, the Birds will play just 41 of the 88 games prior to the All-Star break (July 10-13) at home. The Orioles will play a pair of 10-game homestands; July 14-23 (Chicago-NL, Texas, and Houston) and August 28-September 6 (Seattle, Toronto, and New York-AL) before finishing the home portion of their schedule with a seven-game homestand, September 18-24 (Boston and Tampa Bay).
The Orioles will play 15 of the final 22 games of the season on the road. Baltimore will also travel for a nine-game road trip, April 11-20 (at Boston, Toronto, and Cincinnati) and two 10-game road trips; August 7-16 (at Los Angeles-AL, Oakland, and Seattle) and September 8-17 (at Cleveland, Toronto, and New York-AL). The Orioles will finish the regular season with a five-game road trip to Pittsburgh (September 26-27) and Tampa Bay (September 29-October 1).
