The Orioles today announced their 2021 Major League Coaching Staff. They have named Tony Mansolino as Third Base Coach. Darren Holmes shifts from Bullpen Coach to Assistant Pitching Coach and Chris Holt shifts from Director of Pitching to Pitching Coach/Director of Pitching. All other coaches remain in their same positions: Tim Cossins as Major League Field Coordinator/Catching Instructor, Fredi González as Major League Coach, José Hernández as Assistant Hitting Coach, Don Long as Hitting Coach, and Anthony Sanders as First Base Coach.

Mansolino, 38, joins the Orioles from the Cleveland Indians organization where he spent the last 10 seasons. He spent the 2020 season as the Indians Infield Coordinator, while also filling in as the Indians Third Base Coach during the time Tribe manager Terry Francona was away from the team. Prior to being promoted to Infield Coordinator, Mansolino managed the Indians Triple-A affiliate, the Columbus Clippers, to the International League Championship in 2019 after posting a league-best 81-59 record. He spent the 2018 season as the manager of Double-A Akron. In 2017, he was named Carolina League Manager of the Year after leading Class A-Advanced Lynchburg to the Carolina League title and a league-best 87-52 record. He made his managerial debut in 2016 with Class-A Lake County, posting a 72-68 record in his first season. He spent his first five seasons as a hitting coach in the Indians organization from 2011-15. A native of Newport Beach, Calif., Mansolino played professionally for six seasons as an infielder from 2005-10 after being selected in the 26th round of the 2005 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Vanderbilt University (TN).
