Orioles announce refund policy for games impacted by coronavirus

The Orioles today announced a policy for fans who held tickets to Orioles home games in the 2020 season through May 31. Fans can get a 125 percent ticket credit for any home games through 2022 or can receive a full refund.

"We certainly recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic has created great hardships for many families and businesses. The Orioles will also offer fans the choice of a full refund for the impacted games, if preferred. Refund requests will be processed within 30 days and must be received by June 30, 2020. Fans are encouraged to reach out to their dedicated Orioles representative or call 1-888-848-BIRD to pursue this option," the team said on Orioles.com.

The game credit is calculated based on the face value of tickets only, is applied to the account holder, and is non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash value. The game credit only applies to regular season Orioles ticketing purchases, and cannot be redeemed for parking, concessions, merchandise, postseason tickets or other expenses. For Birdland Members, the Birdland Membership must be paid in full in order to obtain the game credit.

"The Orioles strive to be the region's most affordable, family-friendly entertainment destination, and we certainly understand how difficult these past few months have been for families and businesses in our community," Greg Bader, the Orioles' senior vice president for administration and experience, said in a statement.

"Beginning today, we will offer our fans several options for all regular season home games scheduled through May 31, which have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are hopeful that this policy will deliver significant added value to many of our most dedicated fans while allowing those with uncertain or difficult circumstances the flexibility they need to make the best choice for their family at this challenging time."
