The Orioles announced today that their makeup game against the Rangers on June 20 in Arlington, Texas, will start at 8:05 p.m. ET.
The game was supposed to be played last Sunday, but heavy rain early in the morning caused an early postponement. The weather improved by first pitch and the teams actually could have taken the field.
The Orioles are squeezing in one game between home series against the Blue Jays and Padres. Hardly an ideal setup, but they otherwise don't return to Globe Life Park.
Their June 19 game begins at 1:35 p.m. and they would have preferred another afternoon start in Arlington - midday would have been ideal - but the Rangers wanted first pitch at night.
We're still waiting for an announcement on a makeup date for the April 9 game against the Rays at Camden Yards that was postponed due to inclement weather. A doubleheader is likely during the June 24-26 series.
It should be much warmer.
Meanwhile, Joey Rickard is only the third Orioles rookie in the last 20 years to collect at least three hits in back-to-back games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The Rule 5 picks joins Nick Markakis (2006) and Matt Wieters (2009).
