"Orioles Classics" #TBT: Some monstrously good Orioles baseball lurks in the darkness

You've stocked up on trick-or-treat candy, mangled a pumpkin into a snaggle-toothed jack-o-lantern and taken your Dracula cape out of mothballs. Now what?

How about reanimating some occasions - most of them not so long ago - when the Orioles struck terror in the hearts of opponents?

Over the next seven days, MASN will bring back from the grave some unearthly performances from recent years. And you'll simply die when we retrieve from the crypt a relic from a time long past.

SEE the two-headed creature that ate the Bronx! MARVEL at the exploits of a ghoulishly good left arm! SCREAM at a swarm of terrifying bats!

Thursday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. - Manny Machado became just the second player in major league history to hit home runs in the first, second and third innings of the same game when the Orioles notched a 10-2 win over White Sox in Chicago on Aug. 7, 2016.

Friday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. - Orioles fans carry in their memories the image of Cal Ripken Jr. snaring a line drive off the bat of Garry Maddox and waving his glove in jubilation, having secured the World Series title. You'll see that indelible moment, and everything leading up to it, as we screen Game 5 of the 1983 World Series. Scott McGregor went nine innings for the win in the Oct. 16 clincher in Philadelphia, which the O's took by a score of 5-0.

Monday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m. - Machado resembled Godzilla again on Aug. 28, 2017, when his grand slam - his third homer of the night - gave the Orioles a 9-7 walk-off win over the Angels.

Tuesday, Oct. 30, 12:30 p.m. - The Orioles recorded another 9-7 victory - this one over the eventual World Series champion Astros - on July 23, 2017 as Zach Britton set a new American League record for consecutive saves.

Wednesday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m. - The Orioles clinched a place in the playoffs on Oct. 2, 2016. Making it extra sweet was that it happened in Yankee Stadium. Matt Wieters hit a pair of two-run homers, one from each side of the plate. Meanwhile, Kevin Gausman kept the Yankees off-balance, going 7 1/3 innings and surrendering just two runs.

Wednesday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m. - In the second half of our Halloween double-feature, you'll see the O's put on a display of power worthy of Frakenstein's laboratory. It was June 2, 2016, when the Birds teed off for seven homers - Mark Trumbo and Adam Jones each had two - against the Red Sox in a 12-7 win for Baltimore. Just don't get so caught up in it that you forget to answer the doorbell. We'd hate to see your windows get soaped.
