"Orioles Classics" #TBT: Walk-off this way

It take patience to be a baseball fan. No way around it, there's a lot of dead time in a game. But those who appreciate the intricate diamond ballet can wait it out and have their patience rewarded.

And what's a better reward than a walk-off victory?

This week's smattering of "Orioles Classics" on MASN is full of walk-offs, and also includes some victories of a more generic persuasion. But who are we kidding: Everyone likes a win, right?

Some of the heroes are well known, others not so much. But their exploits are no less important in the grand scheme.

So settle in, get the snacks ready and block some time off your calendar for these "Orioles Classics."

Thursday, Jan. 24, 9 a.m. - The guys in orange and black were down 3-2 to the White Sox going to the last of the ninth on Sept. 7. 2013. Then Matt Wieters stepped to the plate with two men on and stoked a game-winning two-run single.

Thursday, Jan. 24, 7 p.m. - Trailing 2-0 in the eighth against the Diamondbacks, the O's got a Pedro Álvarez homer in the eighth, a tying blast by Wieters in the ninth and then a leadoff walk-off shot by Mark Trumbo in the 12th for a 3-2 triumph on Sept. 23, 2016.

Sunday, Jan. 27, 12:30 p.m. - Talk about making a great first impression! On April 8. 2012, Jason Hammel took a no-hitter into the eighth in his first Orioles start before a Justin Morneau's double spoiled his bid for immortality. But he stuck around long enough to get the win in a 3-1 O's victory. J.J. Hardy homered in the first and Wilson Betemit had a two-run double in the sixth.

Monday, Jan. 28, 12:30 p.m. - Sometimes, one swing of the bat is the difference. That was the case on June 23, 2014, when Chris Davis came off the bench as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning and clubbed a three-run walk-off to right field for a 6-4 win.

Monday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m. - The O's 8-7 win in San Francisco on Aug. 14, 2016 wasn't a walk-off, but Jonathan Schoop's ninth-inning three-run blast was the difference.

Tuesday, Jan. 29, 9 a.m. - The Braves and Orioles battled into the 11th inning on July 27, 2015 before Wieters sent 26,256 home fans home happy with a walk-off home run off Luis Avilan for a 2-1 triumph.

Wednesday, Jan. 30, 12:30 p.m. - Henry Urrutia hit just one home run in his major league career, but he made it count. On Aug. 19, 2015, Urrutia took Carlos Torres deep over the left field wall to seal a 5-4 victory over the Mets.
