Orioles DFA Richard Rodriguez (plus notes and lineups)

NEW YORK - The Orioles selected the contract of left-hander Tanner Scott this morning, removing him from the taxi squad, and designated pitcher Richard Rodriguez for assignment.

The club will know by 1 p.m. whether Rodriguez cleared waivers. He posted a 14.29 ERA in five relief appearances this month.

Adam Jones is out of the lineup again today due to some soreness in his legs. The turf in Toronto wasn't kind to him.

Trey-Mancini-swing-orange-sidebar.jpgAustin Hays is in center field. Trey Mancini is batting fourth.

The Orioles are 1-8 on the road trip that ends today. They haven't posted one victory in a trip of at least 10 games since July 1-10, 2011, when they went 1-9.

According to STATS, the Orioles have been involved in four road trips of 10 or more games and registered only one win.

The Orioles have allowed 150 runs in 18 games versus the Yankees this season, the highest total by any team against an opponent in a single season since the White Sox tallied 158 versus the Red Sox in 22 games in 1960.

The Orioles no longer have totaled the most wins in the American League since 2012. The Yankees passed them yesterday with 517.
