After successfully recording and returning nearly one million ballots from in-park voting at Oriole Park, the Orioles are encouraging fans to continue voting to send their favorite Orioles to the 2014 MLB All-Star Game in Minnesota by voting online. DH Nelson Cruz and catcher Matt Wieters currently lead the voting at their respective positions, and a late push for outfielder Adam Jones, in addition to first baseman Chris Davis, shortstop J.J. Hardy, third baseman Manny Machado and outfielder Nick Markakis, can help send them to the Midsummer Classic.
The tightest race involving an Orioles player is with Jones, who currently sits in 5th place, approximately 88,000 votes behind Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. In the last week, Jones has closed the gap by nearly 100,000 votes and has an opportunity at a second straight starting spot with a strong final push from Orioles fans.
Fans can cast their votes online for Orioles players up to 35 times per email address at www.orioles.com/voteorange using the 2014 All-Star Game Ballot until voting concludes this Thursday night at 11:59 p.m.
Each fan who votes 25 times and selects the Orioles as their "favorite" or "other favorite" club will receive an online promo code valid for $10 off a box seat or $5 off a reserved seat for any game in the Orioles series against the Los Angeles Angels on July 29-31. With each promo code valid for the online purchase of up to four seats, the offer could save fans as much as $40 on their tickets.
In addition, fans who vote the maximum 35 times online and select the Orioles as their "favorite" or "other favorite" club will automatically be entered into the 2014 Orioles All-Star Sweepstakes with a chance to win an All-Star Game jersey signed by the 2014 Orioles All-Stars.
As an added bonus, each fan voting the maximum 35 times between now and Thursday's deadline will also be entered to win an on-field experience, including a meet-and-greet with Adam Jones, before an upcoming Orioles home game.
