Orioles honor "the helpers" as Virtual Birdland Community Heroes

The Orioles announced today that the club will honor community "helpers" collectively as part of the club's Virtual Birdland Community Heroes program. This group includes small business owners who have addressed varying needs in their community; non-profit leaders who have adapted and adjusted their missions to better serve those in need; volunteers who continue to offer their time and skills to local organizations; and all members of the community who are reaching out to their neighbors to lend a helping hand.

On behalf of the "helpers," the Orioles Charitable Foundation will be making a $5,000 donation to Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland.

Today's "helpers" honorees include Monica Alvarado, owner of Bread and Butter Kitchen in Annapolis; Jarrod Bolte, CEO of Bedtime in a Box; Will Fagg, owner and head chef of TinyBrickOven in Federal Hill; Nancy Longo, owner and chef of Pierpoint Restaurant in Fells Point; and the hundreds of volunteers and more than 40 delivery drivers with Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland.
