Orioles lineup vs. Blue Jays

The Orioles are a half-game behind in the wild card race as they go for the sweep tonight against the Blue Jays and board their flight to Boston. They’re only two back for the top spot.

They can move seven games above .500 for the first time since May 22, 2017.

Last night marked the seventh time this season that the Orioles won after trailing through seven innings. They have 25 comeback victories.

The 16 wins in the last 20 home games represents their best stretch at Camden Yards since 2016.

The Orioles are running out the same lineup tonight.

Anthony Santander has a hit in 18 of his last 19 games and is batting .360/.422/.653 with seven doubles, five home runs, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored during that stretch.

Terrin Vavra had his first career multi-RBI game last night, and he’s the designated hitter again tonight.

Adley Rutschman’s 10 walks in the last six games are the most by an Oriole in that span since Nick Markakis did it in June 2008.

Dean Kremer blanked the Pirates on four hits over 6 1/3 innings in his last start, and he didn’t walk a batter while lowering his ERA to 3.43.

Kremer has made three career starts against the Blue Jays and allowed 13 runs in 10 1/3 innings. They’ve hit six home runs against him.

Toronto’s José Berríos is 8-4 with a 5.19 ERA and 1.347 WHIP in 22 starts. His 24 home runs lead the American League and are second in the majors.

Berríos went seven innings against the Orioles on June 15 and allowed three runs and three hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. Rutschman hit his first major league home run. Ryan Mountcastle homered off Berríos and Yimi García.

The Orioles have never tagged Berríos with a loss. He’s 6-0 with a 3.05 ERA and 1.034 WHIP in nine starts going back to his Twins days.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. extended his hitting streak to 20 games last night.

Jackie Bradley Jr. made his Blue Jays debut last night as a defensive replacement in center field.

Baseball America updated its Top 30 prospects list to include draftees and players acquired at the trade deadline. Jackson Holliday, who makes his professional debut tonight in the Florida Complex League – playing shortstop for five innings and batting second – is No. 3 for the Orioles behind Gunnar Henderson and Grayson Rodriguez. Dylan Beavers is ninth, Seth Johnson 10^th, Chayce McDermott 17^th, Max Wagner 21^st, Jud Fabian 23^rd and Cade Povich 29^th.

Johnson underwent Tommy John surgery after the Orioles acquired him from the Rays in the three-team Trey Mancini trade.
