Orioles lineup vs. Twins

The anticipated matchup is here. The one fans circled when the starters were announced.

Kyle Bradish makes his second major league appearance tonight, as the Orioles try to win for only the third time in 10 games.

The Twins are starting former Orioles first-round draft pick Dylan Bundy, traded to the Angels back in December 2019 for a four-pitcher haul that included Bradish.

Should be fun.

Bradish allowed two earned runs and three total in six innings in his debut Friday night against the Red Sox. He was extended to 81 pitches.

Tyler Nevin isn’t in tonight’s lineup after experiencing discomfort last night in his groin area and leaving the game in the sixth inning. No roster move has been announced.

Jorge Mateo is the shortstop, Ramón Urías is the third baseman and Trey Mancini is the designated hitter.

Anthony Santander, the right fielder tonight, has reached base in 23 of 24 games.

The Orioles have scored two runs or fewer in 14 of their 24 games. Their .609 OPS ranks 28th in the majors and their 74 runs scored are the fourth-fewest.

The Orioles have been hit by pitches 17 times this season, most in the American League.

Bundy signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Twins on December 1 that included an $11 million club option for 2023 and a $1 million buyout. He faced the Orioles in his final start last season before going on the injured list with a shoulder strain, lasting only 1 1/3 innings and allowing one run and one hit with three walks and three strikeouts.

Ryan Mountcastle homered off Bundy. He’s 2-for-15 in his last four games and 5-for-28 in his last seven.

Bundy has allowed seven runs in four starts this season, with three walks, 19 strikeouts and only two home runs in 21 1/3 innings.
