Orioles name Chris Martrich as coordinator of public relations

The Baltimore Orioles have named Chris Martrich as the club's Coordinator, Public Relations. Martrich will help to coordinate all facets of the Orioles' public relations efforts. His primary responsibilities will include the creation of daily press notes, drafting press releases, assisting with production of the club's annual media guide, arranging interviews for players and staff, handling media credentials, and assisting with the coordination of press conferences, media calls, and press box operations, while serving as a media contact for the club in Baltimore and at spring training in Sarasota, Fla. The 2015 season will mark Martrich's third with the Orioles after joining the club as a Public Relations Assistant in April 2014 and previously serving as a public relations intern in 2011. Prior to joining the Orioles in 2014, Martrich served as the Director of Public Relations for the Springfield Armor, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets. In 2013, he worked as a Communications Assistant with the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Previously, he served as a direct media contact for eight Division I athletic programs at Lehigh University as a Media Relations Assistant from 2012-13. A native of Lehigh Township, Pa., Martrich graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and a concentration in Public Relations.
