Orioles offense struggling with just 10 runs on current road trip

The Orioles are third in the American League in runs scored, behind only Boston and Detroit, but their bats have been pretty quiet on this road trip. In the last two games of the Yankees series at home last weekend, the Orioles scored 15 runs and hit six homers. But in the first four games of this road trip, they have scored 10 runs and hit just three homers. The O's team average is just .183 and they have only 23 hits in the four games, scoring (in order) two, four, two and two runs. In the last two games, they produced just three hits in 29 at-bats each game. Six total hits in two games. Yikes. Nick Markakis is 7-for-14 on this trip, but some others have struggled: * J.J. Hardy 0-for-15 * Manny Machado 3-for-16 * Brian Roberts 1-for-12 * Matt Wieters 1-for-11 * Chris Davis 2-for-13 * Adam Jones 3-for-16 * Nolan Reimold 2-for-8 The Orioles will try to get it going today against Andy Pettitte, who is 27-6 with an ERA of 3.52 in 42 career games (40 starts) against them. Over his last four starts, Pettitte has an ERA of 5.84 and opposing batters are hitting .320 against him. In seven home starts in 2013, he is 1-4 with a 5.72 ERA. Maybe all those numbers will bode well for the Orioles today. This team has shown an amazing ability to bounce back since the start of the 2012 season. Now they have to bounce back from back-to-back walk-off losses. Their latest test awaits today at Yankee Stadium.
