SARASOTA, Fla. - Left-hander Edgar Olmos is back in the Orioles organization.

Olmos was reacquired from the Cubs today for a player to be named. No word yet on whether he'll report to the Ed Smith Stadium complex, which is the assumption.

Update: Olmos will report to Twin Lakes Park.

Edgar Olmos mariners.jpg Olmos spent 13 days with the Orioles after they claimed him off waivers from the Cubs on Dec. 10 and designated outfielder Junior Lake for assignment. It happened on the final day of the Winter Meetings.

The Cubs claimed Olmos off waivers on Dec. 23 and designated him for assignment on Feb. 12 after claiming left-hander C.J. Riefenhauser, who had been with the Orioles as part of the Mark Trumbo deal.

Confused yet?

The Cubs outrighted Olmos on Feb. 16, and now he's back with the Orioles, who are stockpiling left-handers while Brian Matusz is shut down again with a strained muscle in his lower back.

The Orioles also signed southpaw reliever Zach Phillips to a major league deal before yesterday's game against the Pirates. Can't have too many.

Olmos, 25, is 1-1 with a 5.21 ERA in 11 major league games with the Marlins and Mariners.

In other news, manager Buck Showalter confirmed that Chris Tillman is starting Friday's game against the Yankees, who are sending Ivan Nova to the mound. He also stated that Tyler Wilson remains in the running for a rotation spot.
