Orioles recall Stinson, option Burnett

The Orioles today announced that they have recalled right-hander Josh Stinson from Class-A Frederick and optioned right-hander Alex Burnett to Triple-A Norfolk. Stinson, 25, was claimed off of waivers from Oakland on April 4. He went 1-0 with a 0.77 ERA (11.2IP, ER) in two starts with the Tides. He also made one appearance with Class-A Frederick. Stinson will wear #60 and start this afternoon's game against Toronto. In seven minor league seasons in the Mets and Brewers organizations, Stinson was 41-49 with a 3.98 ERA (707.1IP, 313ER). He was originally selected by the Mets in the 37th round of the 2006 First Year Player Draft out of Northwood High School in Shreveport, LA. Stinson is 0-2 with a 4.43 ERA (22.1IP, 11ER) in 20 major league games with the New York Mets (2011) and Milwaukee Brewers (2012). Burnett, 25, was recalled on Monday and did not pitch in two Orioles games. He was claimed by the Orioles off waivers from Toronto on April 12. He went 4-4 with a 3.52 ERA (71.2IP, 28ER) in 67 appearances for Minnesota in 2012. Burnett is 1-0 in three scoreless appearances for the Tides this season.
