Orioles release Wesley Wright

NEW YORK - The Orioles have released left-handed reliever Wesley Wright, who was designated for assignment last week.
Wright made only two appearances in April before going on the disabled list with a strained left trapezius. He allowed one run and two hits in 1 2/3 innings.
Wright was transferred to the 60-day disabled list and surrendered 10 earned runs (11 total) and 15 hits in 11 2/3 innings on his injury rehab assignment at Triple-A Norfolk. He walked seven batters (two intentionally) and struck out five.
The Orioles signed Wright to a one-year, $1.7 million contract in December. They designated him for assignment on July 14.

Friday: Chris Tillman (7-7, 4.96 ERA) vs. Chris Archer (9-7, 2.73 ERA)
Saturday: Miguel Gonzalez (8-6, 4.21 ERA) vs. Erasmo Ramirez (8-3, 3.54 ERA)
Sunday: Wei-Yin Chen (4-6, 2.86 ERA) vs. Matt Moore (1-1, 7.23 ERA)
