Orioles set rotation for Toronto series

BOSTON - Rookie Steve Johnson is scheduled to make another start for the Orioles this week. Johnson and Wei-Yin Chen are listed as Monday's starters for the doubleheader against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards. Left-hander Joe Saunders will start Tuesday, and Miguel Gonzalez will pitch Wednesday on normal rest. Three rookie starters in a four-game series? Yeah, that sounds about right. In his eight relief appearances, rookie Steve Johnson is 1-0 with a 1.10 ERA (16.1IP, 2ER) and opponents are batting .127 (7-55) against him as a reliever...In his two outings as a starter, Johnson is 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA (12.0IP, 4ER) and opponents are batting .214 (9-42). Johnson defeated the Blue Jays on Aug. 25, allowing two runs and four hits in six innings, with two walks and seven strikeouts. Edwin Encarnacion homered off him. Meanwhile, a win today would tie the Orioles record for most wins at Fenway Park in a season (eight in 1960 and 1966). The Orioles have won nine of their 11 road series against the American League East. The Orioles are 37-24 (.607) in the division with 11 games remaining. The last time they posted a higher winning percentage in the division was 1980 (49-29, .628). The Orioles have now won 29 series in 2012 after winning just 16 series last year. The last time they won 28 or more series in one year was 1997 (31). The Orioles improved to 29-14 in day games yesterday, including 17-6 on the road. They're 13-4 in games that follow extra-inning games, including 8-1 on the road.
