SARASOTA, Fla. - The Orioles won't be done playing exhibition games after leaving Florida.
There's room for one more.
The Orioles will face the Mets on March 24 at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium on the grounds of the United States Naval Academy. First pitch in Annapolis is slated for 2:05 p.m.
The game will be carried live on 105.7 The Fan and the Orioles Radio Network. Tickets won't be sold to the public, but select Birdland Members can access a limited number.
Players and staff from both teams will visit before the game with representatives from the Naval Academy and tour the facilities.
The teams will play each other on the previous day in Sarasota to close out the Grapefruit League portion of the schedule. The Orioles break camp later that day, with a 34th exhibition game waiting for them in Maryland.
The Orioles announced a multi-pronged partnership with the Naval Academy in 2018, but it didn't include a game at the stadium. They were unable to secure an opponent.
As part of their agreement, the Orioles hosted an Army-Navy doubleheader in March 2018 and they visited the Naval Academy facilities in March 2019.
An Orioles official expressed optimism that they would play a major league team in Annapolis in 2020 and confirmation arrived this afternoon.
The Nationals and Red Sox played an exhibition in April 2017 in Annapolis, the first such game since 1987.
The Orioles will use March 25 as their mandatory off day and open the regular season on March 26 against the Yankees at Camden Yards.
