Red Sox and Orioles lineups

Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy is headed back to Baltimore today after taking live batting practice on back-to-back days at Triple-A Norfolk.

hardy hit white sidebar.jpgThe Orioles could be nearing a decision on where to send Hardy on an injury-rehabilitation assignment. The affiliates will be on the road, which complicates their plans.

Everth Cabrera starts at shortstop again tonight as the Orioles attempt to even their series with the Red Sox following last night's 7-5 loss. Rey Navarro gets another start at second base.

Steve Pearce is on the bench again despite a walk and single in two plate appearances last night.

Adam Jones extended his home hitting streak to seven games to start the season last night and is now 13-for-25 (.520/.552/1.040) with four home runs, nine RBIs and nine runs scored at Camden Yards. He's hit safely in 13 of 17 games this season.

Single-A Frederick catcher Chance Sisco is back on the seven-day disabled list, this time with an oblique injury. Sisco recently was sidelined with a fractured finger on his right hand.

Jeff Samardzija and Chris Sale, scheduled to start for the White Sox in the first two games of their series against the Orioles next week at Camden Yards, each received five-game suspensions today for their roles in the on-field incident Thursday night with the Royals. The suspensions would begin on Sunday unless they appeal.
